Dr. Sara Vogel is an Associate Research Scientist at New York University - Steinhardt. An education researcher focusing at the intersection of bilingual, social justice, and computing education, Sara co-designs, co-coordinates, and co-conducts the research associated with the CT to CS RPP. A born-and-raised Brooklynite, Sara was a middle school bilingual public school teacher and a digital media educator. She is currently faculty in the Teaching of English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) residency program at Bank Street College and co-founder of the Participating in Literacies and Computer Science (PiLaCS) project. She has a PhD in Urban Education from the Graduate Center of the City University of New York. As a teacher-educator, Sara uses CT in her lesson planning -- abstracting and decomposing the complex act of teaching into component parts.
